Do you know what the number one “thing” we all need if we want to transform our health?
And by transforming our health, I mean specifically; lose weight, sleep better, feel our best, live with a chronic illness like diabetes or cancer, eat the foods that keep us healthy, eat the “cheat” foods that are not so healthy, and LOVE ourselves with gentle kindness.
All the diets, supplements, programs…. won’t make us healthy without this one thing.
And, that one thing is MINDSET. And, specifically – making three critical mind shifts so that we can take on any habit change and make the transformation so vital for our health and wellbeing.
Here’s these three mind shifts:
1) Get rid of imposter syndrome – We all have the critic that talks to us daily (in our mind) “I can’t live healthy”, “I don’t deserve it”, “I don’t have time to prepare and make healthy meals,” “I don’t like to exercise” — the negative voice inside our head roars on….
How do we make this shift from imposter syndrome to confident and empowered self?
Shift: Don’t believe everything you think about yourself. Instead, begin to acknowledge something you’ve done for your health (even the smallest endeavor!). Be aware of the story you are telling yourself and get out of your head and into your heart. Keep showing up.
Action and consistency will build confidence and success.
2) Go all in from the start – stop playing small. Once we keep our negative imposter syndrome in check we must go all in go all in no matter how scared or doubtful we are. Do it all with small steps because it (eating healthy, exercise, mindfulness) does get easier. To make this shift think of your healthy lifestyle as a fun and adventurous journey not a sprint.
This way you’ll be more motivated and inspired to make healthy choices.
3) Stop overthinking everything and giving into perfectionism.
Overthinking, indecision = analysis paralysis. Thoughts like “I can’t go to that exercise class because I might not be able to do it…” will get us nowhere. Instead make the shift from perfectionist to a learner.
When the thought comes up “I don’t know what to do – ask yourself what would a healthy person do? OR if I did know what to do – what would I do – and take action from there.
Give yourself permission to do a B+ and accomplish 2% growth. When you become a learner you replace the critical thoughts with ones that are curious. You create more time for your health and wellness because it takes less time to do things when you are a learner and not striving for perfection.
More time for your healthy lifestyle = a strong and empowered you.
All the tools – diets, programs, shakes, supplements, in the world won’t make our health transformation happen if we don’t make these three critical mind shifts to keep our mind confident, positive, kind and loving.
Lots of love,
XO, Christine
