Radiant Child Yoga
Christine created Radiant Child Yoga + Meditation to teach kids important yoga concepts – asanas (postures) breath, movement and body awareness to name a few. In addition, kids how to foster love and respect in themselves with others and in their homes and communities.
By practicing yoga and mediation, children increase their self-esteem, and strengthen their bodies and minds.
Radiant Child yoga uses
imagery, movment and positive word association. This practice gives children a way to self sooth and
choose relaxation. It could be
called “creative movement,” except that Radiant Child Yoga contains all the
essential ingredients of yoga-breath awareness, mind-body fitness, and the
opportunity to experience the “self-within.”

This is yoga;
One day after presenting my Radiant Child Yoga + Meditation to the parents of all the kids I’ve been teaching throughout the school year this happened:
After the class, one of the dads came
up to me and said “I have to tell you our tooth story. Our (alias name)
John had a loose tooth and we were ready to pull it out. John said ‘wait’ and
sat down in seated posture with his forefinger and thumb touching and closed
his eyes. He sat for a minute or 2, then said ‘Ok you can pull it.’ My wife pulled it — no screams — our John was
totally calm.
This is the same kid who struggled all
year with the poses and staying still! At times, I wondered if he was getting
anything I taught. Yet, through all that — he got the most important part of
yoga — which is not about the postures — but more about how we calm our minds
— and control it — instead of our thoughts – mind controlling us. This is
yoga.”
