Did you know that the United States bans only 30 toxic chemicals from beauty products, while Europe bans approximately 1500 and Canada 600?
On my path to a healthy lifestyle in the hopes of living longer and disease free, I learned from medical doctors to not only be mindful of what I put in my body, but to also consider what I put on my body.
Who would have thought?!
As it turns out our skin is the largest organ in our body and this is a big deal. Now I read the ingredients on every bottle I bring into my house. I want to know what my family is ingesting – internally and externally.
Have you thought about this for you and your family? Do you know what chemicals are in your facial cleanser, body lotion, sunscreen, make up and body wash?
I know I did not. If you were like me, you are no doubt (accidentally), exposing yourself to toxins which are proven to have both a physical and mental, negative affect on your health!
Here’s what I learned…
While the body has systems in place to naturally detoxify, it’s up to us to support those systems and make sure they’re not being overburdened. Reducing our toxic load by using trusted clean self care products, eating enough natural, whole foods and exercising so that we help our body’s incredible detox system do its job are ways to start.
Stay tuned during the month of June for my Nourish“Holistic Detox – Email Series,” where you will learn how to take the first steps in overhauling your life and your health.
Together let’s clean up this spring! 🍓🌷
